Pulling up RV roots

A nearly two-hour workshop Thursday produced a list of proposed changes on how Columbia County can better regulate RV parks and campgrounds, including limiting people using the sites as permanent residences.

Home invasion shooting may be Stand Your Ground

A shooting Tuesday night that resulted in a Lake City man killed after breaking into a home may fall under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. According to the Lake City Police Department, the investigation into the incident suggests the case may qualify. The investigation is ongoing.

From menial tasks to using heavy equipment, preparation work is taking place at the Florida Gateway Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena as the rodeo comes to town this weekend.

Home invader shot, killed

A home invasion suspect was shot and killed Tuesday night by an occupant in the dwelling he broke into, according to the Lake City Police Department. Authorities are withholding the identity of the 31-year-old man who was killed in the attempted home invasion.
