Young resigns as city’s growth director

The Lake City Growth Management Department will be looking for a new administrator after its director submitted his resignation. David Young, the head of the Growth Management Department, officially submitted his resignation from the position on Friday in a letter to City Manager Don Rosenthal.

Jernigan apologizes for offending FGC staff

Following comments made at the Lake City Council’s March 10 meeting regarding his alma mater, Councilman Ricky Jernigan offered apologies to Florida Gateway College on Monday.

Two seriously injured in I-75 motorhome crash

A pair of South Florida women were seriously injured when their motorhome collided with a semi truck Sunday on Interstate 75. The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorhome was traveling south on I-75 around noon Sunday when it moved from the left lane to the middle lane in southern Columbia County.

Guerry honored at FGC
