BOYS BASKETBALL: Columbia, Fort White to tip off in local summer league

Summer hoops will have a different look in June. It’ll be easier for fans to watch too. Columbia and Fort White will compete with local schools in a summer league for the entire month of June, with games scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

PREP FOOTBALL: Columbia's defensive line expects to ‘eat’ this fall

It all starts up front for Columbia’s defense. The defensive line wreaked havoc in last Saturday’s spring game, tallying three sacks while helping force three interceptions in the Tigers’ 35-0 win over Fort White.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White QB Jackson enters senior season with big expectations

FORT WHITE — Expectations are high for Fort White quarterback Jayden Jackson entering his senior season. After starting behind center the last two years, the signal caller is now set to assume possibly the biggest leadership role of his young career.

PREP FOOTBALL: Allen, McCray have been welcomed additions on Columbia's defense

Columbia’s defense was already expected to be talented entering this spring. With the addition of two transfers, the unit is even better. That was clear during Saturday’s spring game against Fort White.

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS — Lafayette may have lost a generational playmaker on offense in Jordan Murphy, but head coach Marcus Edwards is adjusting on the fly. As of Tuesday night, it seems to be panning out just fine.

PREP SOFTBALL: Branford comes up short at state again, falls to Northview in Rural semis

LONGWOOD — Branford looked poised for its second blowout win in as many state semifinals appearances. A pair of home runs sparked a five-run first inning before the Buccaneers held Northview to a scoreless bottom half of the frame. Then the wheels fell off. Again.

PREP FOOTBALL: Fort White's subpar performance a 'shocker' in spring loss to CHS

Elijah Gardner ran for a 3-yard gain on the first play from scrimmage.  It all went downhill from there for Fort White.  The Indians threw three interceptions while not completing a pass until the third quarter in Saturday’s 35-0 spring game loss against Columbia.
