LIVE OAK — One long wait is over and Columbia hopes another ends next week.For the first time since 2017, the Tigers hoisted a regional title Saturday when they won the Region 2-2A traditional team crown at Suwannee High. Now CHS has its sights set on the program’s first state crown since 1999.

LIVE OAK — No. 2 seed Suwannee easily dispatched No. 3 seed Godby on Monday, cruising to a 15-0 run-rule win at home in the District 2-3A semifinals.Maylee Gabey led the Bulldogs (9-13) with three RBIs on a 2-for-3 night while Timberlee May and Kynadee Lin Lee each drove in two runs.

LIVE OAK — Winners of five straight, the Suwannee Bulldogs don’t want anything to change when the Region 1-3A playoffs begin today.Suwannee, which has also won nine of 10 to improve to 16-11 overall and the No. 3 seed in the region, hosts West Nassau (13-14) in a 7 p.m.

PREP BASEBALL: Keen won't pitch for Columbia during playoffs due to elbow injury

PREP SOFTBALL: Columbia edges Branford in another one-run victory

BRANFORD — One-run games have been Columbia’s specialty all season long.Branford was the victim again Tuesday night.The Class 4A No. 2 Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and then held on for a 5-4 road win over the Class Rural No. 4 Buccaneers to sweep the season series.
