PREP SPORTS: CHS, Fort White girls basketball; Suwannee boys soccer in playoff positions

The Columbia High girls basketball team’s hard schedule is already paying off. Despite a sub .500 record, in Tuesday’s initial power rankings released by the FHSAA, the Tigers would hold the top spot from District 3 and a top four seed in the Region 1-6A tournament.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Castleton's double-double helps Florida hold off USF

SUNRISE — Colin Castleton scored 12 points with 11 rebounds, his fifth double-double, and Florida held off South Florida 66-55 at the the Orange Bowl Classic on Saturday. Castleton scored nine in the second half, including a putback that showcased Florida's transition game.
