Former Florida Democratic Congresswoman Gwen Graham was confirmed Wednesday by the U.S. Senate as assistant secretary for legislation and congressional affairs in the U.S. Department of Education. Graham, an attorney, represented the Tallahassee area and other parts of North Florida in the U.S.

State wants $3M back from Klausner

TALLAHASSEE — The former owner of a Suwannee County sawmill may have to cut a big check to the State of Florida. The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Leon County Circuit Court seeking to recoup $3 million in incentives provided to Klausner Holding USA, Inc.

LIVE OAK — Driving late Monday morning in northeastern Suwannee County, a car didn’t hit a rock but was rather hit by a rock. According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, a pair of victims said while driving on Wiggins Road just before 11 a.m.

TALLAHASSEE — Florida first lady Casey DeSantis has breast cancer, her husband Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Monday. DeSantis, 41, is the mother of the couple’s three children, the youngest of whom was born after the governor took office in January 2019.
