Fire ravages Suwannee County house

WELLBORN — An eastern Suwannee County house is a total loss following a Sunday afternoon fire. The fire in the 2,500-square foot brick house on 168th Street took firefighters from Suwannee County Fire Rescue more than an hour to get under control after receiving the call around 3:15 p.m.

Truck takes dip in Suwannee River

LIVE OAK — It wasn’t the afternoon on the river imagined Saturday. After launching their boat in the Suwannee River at the Deese/Howard Boat Ramp in northern Suwannee County a little after 1 p.m. Saturday, the afternoon went south in a hurry.

Senate poised to pass identity, orientation bill

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Senate is on the brink of passing an education measure that would prohibit instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades, as protesters flocked to the Capitol to decry what critics have labeled the “don’t say gay” bill.
