Another target for the Florida Department of Government Efficiency team has been identified by members of the Columbia County Commission. During its meeting Thursday morning, the commission unanimously approved not approving a state-funded $436,363.64 agreement with PQH Group Design Inc.

Hammer wake-up call lands woman in jail

A Lake City woman was arrested Wednesday morning after giving a sleeping victim an unwanted wake-up call — repeated shots to the face with a hammer. Tamirria Jackson, 32, was charged with burglary of an occupied structure and attempted second degree murder.
