Parade of Homes showcase returns April 29-30

North Florida’s premier home-building showcase is about ready for its grand unveiling once again. The sixth annual Parade of Homes, sponsored by the Lake City Reporter and the Columbia County Builders’ Association, returns April 29-30. The showcase will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Medical use close to LSHA campus return

The Lake Shore Hospital Authority is looking to sew up the last few steps of a deal that would finally bring healthcare back to its campus. The LSHA board is set to meet Monday at 5:15 p.m. with only a handful of items on its agenda.

City revises public records policy

The public will now get more bang before it has to put up a buck for records from the City of Lake City. At Wednesday’s special Lake City Council meeting, the council unanimously approved a new public records policy for the city.

Event set to ‘Round-Up’ hazardous waste

An annual toxic waste disposal event is returning with a new location and the same promise to safely dispose of unwanted clutter. The Columbia County Toxic Round-Up event is set to return on Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Winfield Solid Waste Facility, located at 1347 Oosterhoudt Ln.

CSC goes tobacco-free

For the past four decades, the Christian Service Center operated under a mission statement to work and benefit other members on the community to meet their well being and spiritual needs.

City counters RCC funding ask

Columbia County won’t be receiving funding from the City of Lake City for recreation at Richardson Community Center.
