Lake City man faces sexual assault charges

A Lake City man is being charged after police say he sexually assaulted a minor. According to a Lake City Police Department release, authorities arrested Dallas Michael Walters, 26, on Saturday after police received a complaint of a sexual battery of a juvenile under the age of 12.

Tax Aide program opening at library

Local residents will be able to get free tax preparation and assistance from the AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide Program in filing their 2023 taxes. The service will be available at the Columbia County Public Library main library branch, 308 NW Columbia Ave. as the host site.

NASHVILLE — A Lake City native could be the next big thing in Nashville. Karley Scott Collins was one of the 14 female artists named to CMT’s 2024 Next Women of Country class. The group was revealed Tuesday at a standing-room-only event at City Winery in Nashville.

CHS theater serving up dinner, drama with “The Alibis”

A catered dinner followed by laughter, drama, and a story full of twists is on the menu for local theater lovers this weekend. The Columbia High theater program is hosting its annual mystery dinner theater event, “The Alibis,” at the Norman Choice Performing Arts Center on the CHS campus.
