Lake City police searching for shooting suspect

The Lake City Police Department is searching for a man wanted for a shooting Sunday.According to an LCPD release, a man was shot in the leg Sunday at 11:15 p.m. in the rear parking lot of Gleason Plaza shopping center at 209 NW Hutton Drive.

Life-saving service honored

Four first responders — three from the Lake City Fire Department as well as a former Lake City Police Department officer — were able to meet and shake the hand of a man they repeatedly saved from death with their CPR skills.

FPL provides meal kits for storm season

Just a few days into the 2026 hurricane season, more than 100 local senior citizens were given hurricane meals by Florida Power and Light as area residents prepare for the upcoming storm season.

Museum hosting Summer Blast for children

Pittman hired to oversee city parks project

Columbia County’s loss is the City of Lake City’s temporary gain.Five weeks after Clint Pittman resigned as Columbia County’s parks and landscape director, Pittman is now the city’s superintendent of parks, a temporary position that was approved by the Lake City Council on Monday.

Slater named Reporter’s interim general manager

Monja Slater has been promoted to interim general manager of the Lake City Reporter, according to Mark Major, the president of Community Newspapers Inc., the owner of the Reporter.Slater joined the Reporter in 2021 and has served as its advertising director and business development manager.

NFWUA slows down transferring assets
