Mahorian
The Lake City Police Department is searching for a man wanted for a shooting Sunday.
According to an LCPD release, a man was shot in the leg Sunday at 11:15 p.m. in the rear parking lot of Gleason Plaza shopping center at 209 NW Hutton Drive. The release said the man had applied a makeshift tourniquet to his leg before officers arrived and he was transported to an area hospital as a trauma alert.
While the victim was unable to provide a statement that night due to the severity of his injury, he told detectives Monday that the shooter was 42-year-old Johnathan Mahorian, who remains at large.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mahorian, who is a 5-foot-6, 160-pound, bald white man. Mahorian is facing attempted murder charges.
The LCPD release said detectives searched areas where Majorian was believed to be and also used emergency cellular location information in attempts to find him.
“Violent acts like this have no place in our community,” Lake City Police Chief Gerald Butler said in the release. “Our detectives have worked tirelessly to identify and locate the suspect and we are committed to bringing him into custody. We ask anyone who knows where Mahorian is to contact law enforcement immediately. We also remind the public not to approach him but to call 911 if he is seen.”
