Country music festival pushed back from April to Sept. 20-23.
LIVE OAK — The 30th annual Suwannee River Jam will arrive a bit later than normal.
Teena Peavey, general manager of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, announced Wednesday that the country music festival was being moved from April 19-22 to Sept. 20-23.
“Moving the event was not an easy decision, however we feel that moving the Suwannee River Jam to the fall will provide a better experience to all Suwannee River Jam goers,” Peavey said in a statement released on social media.
Peavey declined further comment when reached Wednesday by the Reporter.
A release from the Music Park on Wednesday afternoon said artists for the fall Jam will be announced “soon.”
The Jam returned last spring after consecutive cancellations due to the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The 29th annual event drew more than 20,000 fans over the four days and included a last-minute lineup change when Randy Houser replaced Toby Keith, who was ill. At the time, the park said Keith confirmed to return and headline the 2023 Jam.
In 2020, the Jam, the South’s largest country music and camping festival, was originally postponed to the fall before it was later canceled. It was the first time the festival was postponed and canceled.
Country music fans that already have purchased tickets for the Jam may keep them and use them in the fall.
However, fans that wish to request a refund instead may make the request online at www.musicliveshere.com by April 1. The park will begin to move all the reservations to the fall dates on April 2.
Tickets for the fall Jam will go on sale soon, according to the park.
“Keep looking for updates on the lineup and festival information,” Peavey wrote in the released statement. “We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall for the best 30th Anniversary Suwannee River Jam.”
