When Boy Scouts of America rebranded itself Scouts BSA last year and began allowing girls to join its ranks, perhaps the organization had Skylar Beichner, 15, in mind. “I joined the Boy Scouts to learn leadership skills and learn about being a leader,” she said.

A White Springs man has learned that you can’t hide your criminal past from the long arm of the law’s computer database. On Wednesday at about 5 p.m., William Gregory Powell, 39, of SE 154th Place in White Springs, was driving a black SUV down the middle of SW Saturn Lane in Lake City.
