Gov. Ron DeSantis said Friday that the outbreak of coronavirus at Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Live Oak was sparked by a single infected employee.
The door was locked, so he instead tried to rob a North Florida Auto Exchange by flashing his gun at an employee inside.
The outbreak in Suwannee County showed no signs of slowing down Thursday, when health officials announced eight new cases of covid-19, bringing the total up to 54.
Congressman Neal Dunn, whose constituency includes most Columbia County residents, has tested positive for covid-19.
Suwannee County added 14 new covid-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total up to 47. Meanwhile, Columbia County reported 16 cases, up from 15 the day prior.
