Suwannee confirms 3rd case of coronavirus

Suwannee County has its third confirmed case of the novel coronavirus, putting it in the same position as Columbia County as of Monday. 

According to state department of health data released Monday, a 64-year-old woman was diagnosed with the virus in Suwannee County.

Previously, a 47-year-old man and 51-year-old woman in Suwannee County tested positive. 

Columbia County also had three cases as of press time Monday. 

The patients are a 46-year-old woman, a 70-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man. 

None of the Columbia County cases were related to international travel. 

Nearby Alachua County had 80 reported cases.

Nationwide, there were nearly 162,000 cases of Covid-19 as of Monday evening. 

Florida had topped 5,700 around that time, with 71 deaths. 

Globally, cases of the virus surpassed 765,000, with more than 36,000 deaths.
