The hoax of an armed shooter on campus graduated to Florida Gateway College on Tuesday.

Sgt. Steven Khachigan, a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said the agency responded to the FGC campus to the report of a shooter at the college, but it was a “false alarm.”

“It was a false alarm thank goodness,” Khachigan said. “It was referencing the college, but there’s nothing going on.”

Khachigan said he didn’t have full details of how the hoax was reported.

Khachigan said everyone at FGC was safe.
