Columbia won the Lady Bulldog Invitational at Bell on Saturday for the second straight year, while also pushing its record above .500 for the first time this season.

The Tigers topped P.K. Yonge 25-13, 25-14 on Friday before returning Saturday to cruise past Trenton 25-8, 25-12. After dropping the first set of their next match against Chiefland, they rallied for a 20-25, 25-21, 17-15 win to advance to the title match against Bell, where the Tigers rolled to a 25-14, 25-21 win to extend their season winning streak to seven.

It was once again a balanced offensive attack that led CHS (9-5) to the trophy. Cassidy O’Neal had a team-high 31 kills combined in the tournament while Sinei Wood had 27, which was part of a stacked stat line that also included eight aces, five block and a team-high 45 digs.

The Tigers also got huge contributions along the front line from Kayla Goodkoe, who had 15 total kills along with five blocks and three aces, while Autumn Jones chipped in with 13 kills, six aces and 24 digs. Natalie Button added seven kills and fives aces.

Mylie Fernandez set her offense up with 88 assists but she also tallied eight kills with four aces while aiding the defense with 23 digs. Avery Sandlin did her part defensively as well with 40 digs but she was stellar serving too, finishing the tournament with 17 aces.
