PREP SOFTBALL: Fort White falls to University Christian in Tournament of Champions finale

Fort White dropped its finale at the Oakleaf’s Tournament of Champions on Saturday, losing to Class 2A defending state champion University Christian 5-1.

Kadence Compton surrendered five earned runs in the first inning, which was all the Christians (7-2) needed to pick up the win. UC finished with six hits and two walks off Compton, who struck out seven.

The Indians (7-2) managed five hits, four of which came off the bat of Graceanne Durrance (2 for 3) and Gracie Clemons (2 for 4). Durrance scored the lone run for FWHS.
