Suwannee girls golfer Ryan Donaldson shot a 10-under-62 to win the Jill Darr Invitational at the Hawkstone Country Club on Thursday.
Donaldson finished three strokes ahead of runner-up Katelyn Huber from P.K. Yonge. Her round included an eagle and eight birdies, and she never shot worse than par on any hole.
Despite Donaldson’s stellar round, the Bulldogs finished just seventh out of nine teams with a 389 as Kate Kirby placed 29th with a 95, Whitton Musgrove finished 43rd with a 111 and Layla Merola came in 45th with a 121.
Beachside won the tournament with a 290, while Bartram Trail was second with a 329 and Creekside was third with a 332.
Columbia placed fourth with a 349 thanks to a 77 from Alison O’Brien, who placed 12th. Megan Ruwe placed 14th with a 91, Rayna Hardin shot a 91 to finish 25th and Estella Bauer capped the scoring for CHS with a 102 to finish 34th.
Claire Bond was Branford’s lone golfer at the tournament, placing 11th with a 76.
BOYS GOLF
Columbia placed fourth at the John & Ann Ives Tournament on Thursday with a 345 behind Buchholz (321), Santa Fe (325) and Oak Hall (330).
Valin Capen led the Tigers with an eighth-place finish, shooting an 81. Adyn Petit was two strokes behind him to finish 11th with an 83, while Trenton Kirby carded an 87 to finish 17th and Cooper Willis came in 25th with a 94.
