Morgan Mobley placed fourth out of 169 runners in a time of 17:14 to lead the Suwannee boys to a third-place finish out of 13 teams at the Clay County Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Three more Bulldogs placed in the top 20, including Issac Starling in 12th (17:47), Brig Scott in 13th (17:52) and Paul Gunter in 16th (17:59). Also scoring were the SHS boys were Elijah Littleton in 59th (20:34), Andres Gomez in 62nd (21:00) and Tripp Kirland in 68th (21:25).

For the SHS girls, Ryleigh Hermanson led the way with a seventh-place finish out of 123 runners to lead her team to second place with 105 points behind champion Providence, which had 45 points. Five other Lady Bulldogs placed in the top 30 in addition to Hermanson, including Brianna Woods in 23rd (22:57), Montana Lewis in 24th (23:06), Alondra Castro in 26th (23:27), Lydia Gunter in 29th (23:49) and Maddie McMillan in 30th (23:49).

Sadie Siemon rounded out the girls scoring with a 37th-place finish (24:17).

MOORE LEADS BHS GIRLS TO FIRST

The Branford girls won the Bell Invite on Saturday behind a first-place finish from Anna Moore, who finished with a time of 19:58 to cruise to victory ahead of 25 other runners. Teammate Kayleigh Wardle was next in line at 21:52 to place second, followed by BHS runners Kelbie Snider in fourth (22:58), Callie Harris in seventh (23:46), Kalyn Osgood in eighth (25:15), Braylin Aretino in 10th (28:10) and Isabella Resendez in 15th (31:33).

Nathaniel Rojas led the Branford boys to third place with a fifth-place individual finish (19:56) out of 38 runners. Also scoring for the Buccaneers were Matthew Lynn in 11th (21:41), Ayden Humphries in 20th (23:32), Brendan Hegenauer in 26th (25:04) and Kalix Smith in 34th (29:44).
