PREP ROUNDUP: Suwannee boys, Lafayette girls advance to district title matches

Fort White boys and Lafayette girls also grab wins in hoops

BOYS SOCCER

— Suwannee 5, Baker County 0: The No. 2 seed Bulldogs (8-12-1) shut out the No. 3 seed Wildcats (9-6-6) in the District 2-4A semifinals at Santa Fe High School on Friday night. SHS advances to Tuesday’s district championship against top-seeded Santa Fe, which knocked out Eastside with an 8-0 mercy-rule win.

GIRLS SOCCER

— Lafayette 4, Bell 1: The top-seeded Hornets (11-5) topped the No. 5 seed Bulldogs (3-8-3) in the District 2-2A semifinals at home Friday night. LHS advances to face No. 3 seed Trenton — a 9-1 winner over No. 2 seed Jefferson County — in the district championship on Tuesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

— Fort White 55, Union County 48: Jayden Jackson scored 18 points and Brandon DeMartino recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to go with four blocks to lead the Indians (14-5) to a road win over the Tigers (10-9) on Friday night in District 6-1A action. Tafari Moe just missed a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing nine boards in the win.

— Taylor County 63, Suwannee 50: The Bulldogs (8-11) fell to Taylor County (10-7) on the road Friday night.

— Branford 68, Riverside Christian 43: The Buccaneers (13-6) blew out the Wranglers (8-12) at home Friday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

— Lafayette 47, Aucilla Christian 41: Thanks to 12 points from Kiley Beach and 10 from Tristan Campbell, the Hornets (13-5) rallied with a huge fourth quarter to top the Warriors (9-7) on the road Friday night. LHS outscored Aucilla Christian 25-14 to come from behind for the win.
