GIRLS GOLF
— Ponte Vedra 168, Columbia 192, Fleming Island 223: The Tigers finished second in a tri-match behind the Sharks and ahead of the Golden Eagles at The Golf Club at Fleming Island. Alison O’Brien finished second individually with a 40 to lead CHS, while Ponte Vedra’s Stella Mortiz won medalist honors with a 37. Also scoring for the Tigers were Megan Ruwe in seventh with a 46, Rayna Hardin in 10th with a 52 and Adeline Mock in 11th with a 54.
— Branford 218, Union County 249: Thanks to a 38 by Claire Bond, which was good enough for medalist honors, the Buccaneers topped the Tigers at Quail Heights. All four BHS scorers finished in the top eight, which also included Liberty Ward in third with a 57, Charlotte Bond in sixth with a 61 and Callie Crisp tied for seventh with a 62.
BOYS GOLF
— Bradford 176, Branford 206: Troy Tyler shot a team-best 45 for third overall, but the Buccaneers dropped their match to the Tornadoes at Quail Heights. Also scoring for Branford were Caige Tidwell with a 51, Isaac Pitts with a 54 and Wyatt Winnett wth a 56. Bradford’s Cody Spratlin won medalist honors with a 39.
VOLLEYBALL
— Lafayette 3, Williston 1: Brooke Lamb had 14 kills and 15 digs to help the Hornets (6-0) remain undefeated with a 25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 25-17 win over the Red Devils (1-3). Sophia Kendrick added 10 kills and 10 digs, Ella McAdams had 10 digs, and Rylee Skillman and Libby Beach each 17 assists in the win.
— Madison County 3, Fort White 0: The Indians (0-3) were swept by the Cowgirls (3-2) 26-24, 25-19, 25-14 on the road.
SWIMMING
— Suwannee’s boys and girls teams topped Baker County and Santa Fe in a tri-meet, winning nine of 24 events. Brooklyn Long led the SHS girls with a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle, setting a new personal-best time of 2:26.49, while Oliviah Schneider also excelled with a victory in the 200 IM with a personal-best time of 2:41.69. William Cerritos claimed first place in the boys 50 freestyle, clocking in a personal-best of 26.31, and the boys 400 freestyle relay team (consisting of Camden Swartz, Colt Abersold and Cade Cannon and Cerritos) also secured first place with a new team best time of 2:01.27. As a result of their performances, the following swimmers qualified for the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) meet on Sept. 27-28 in Orlando :Schneider (200 IM), Cerritos (100 freestyle) and Cade Cannon (500 freestyle).
