BASEBALL

Lafayette 8, Madison County 7: The Hornets (10-1) had to rally back for a home win with three runs in the bottom of the seventh after the Cowboys (6-4) scored six in the top of the inning. Trevor Byrd led LHS with a home run and four RBIs on a 3-for-4 night, while Noah Lamb had two RBIs on a 2-for-3 night, JT Cook had an RBI double, and Garrett Taylor had an RBI single. LHS pitcher Hyatt Richardson had left the game after 6 1/3 innings where he allowed two runs — one earned — on one hits and three walks with six strikeouts before Garrett Taylor and Evan Buchanan combined to surrender five runs on two hits and walks without recording a walk, prompting the Hornets to turns to Lamb to get them out of the frame.

— Suwannee 1, Newberry 0: The Bulldogs (6-4-1) walked off with a win over the Panthers (12-2) in nine innings at home despite only two hits.

—  Fort White 13, Eastside 3: The Indians (6-6) run-ruled the Rams (2-9) at home Tuesday night to move back to .500.

SOFTBALL

— Suwannee 3, Madison County 0: Gracie Watley pitched a complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts, allowing just four hits and a walk to lead the Bulldogs (7-5) past the Cowgirls (6-6) at home. Rachel Smith had an RBI double for SHS, which won despite only having two hits.

— Branford 10, Union County 0: Laila Arnold tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk in addition to delivering two RBIs on a 2-for-3 night at the plate, while Mallory Blue homered and had three RBIs to lead the Buccaneers (13-3) to a run-rule win over the Tigers (4-6) in five innings at home for their seventh straight victory. Gloria Gilliam added two more RBIs on a 3-for-3 night for BHS, which also got an RBI apiece from Cloey Criggall (two runs scored) and Ellie Frierson (2 for 3).
