Branford’s softball team rolled to a 15-1 run-rule win over Bradford in five innings on the road Monday night.

Mallory Blue hit a grand slam while Cloey Criggall and Ellie Frierson also homered for the Buccaneers (11-3), who won their fifth straight. Blue finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs, Criggall ended the night 3 for 5 with three RBIs, and Frierson went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Payten Bates also had two RBIs on a 2-for-4 night for Branford, which got an additional RBI apiece from Alex Whitfield and Gloria Gilliam.

Laila Arnold and Blue combined to toss a one-hitter, with Arnold allowing zero hits in two innings where she struck out four. Blue surrendered an unearned run and struck out two in three innings of work against the Tornadoes (3-7).
