BASEBALL

— Lafayette 16, Fort White 4: The Hornets (8-1) put up 10 runs in third inning and pulled away for a run-rule win over the Indians (4-6) on the road in District 6-1A action. FWHS led 2-0 after an inning before the game slipped away, with pitcher Aaron Parnell allowing eight runs — six earned — on nine hits while Patrick Kennedy surrendered six unearned runs on four hits and a pair of walks. Kennedy delivered two RBIs for the FWHS offense and Caden Hall had another.

Branford 12, Eastside 1: Dawson Cannon delivered four RBIs, Colby Beard drove in two runs and the Buccaneers (4-5) run-ruled the Rams (1-5) in five innings at home. Kyler Williamson and Beard combined to throw a one-hitter, with Williamson allowing an earned run on a hit and four walks while striking out five in four innings. Andres Maysonet, Chason Blocker, Austin Humphries, Haiden Ward and Tucker Floyd also had an RBI apiece.

SOFTBALL

Fort White 7, Oakleaf 2: Gracie Clemons, Kadence Compton and N’Coreyia Atkins each had two RBIs to lead the Indians (6-1) past the Knights (5-4) in their Tournament of Champions opener. Compton also pitched a complete game, striking out 13 while allowing one earned run on six hits and a walk.

Branford 10, Chiefland 0: Morgan Brennan had four RBIs and Mallory Blue drove in two more runs to lead the Buccaneers (9-3) to a run-rule win over the Indians (3-6) in six innings on the road. Madyson Sikes, Ellie Frierson and Payten Bates also added an RBI each for BHS, which saw Blue pitch all six innings where she allowed just two hits and three walks while striking out four.

Trenton 2, Suwannee 0: Addison Allaire struck out 16 for the Tigers (9-1) and the Bulldogs (6-4) were held to just two hits in a home loss. Gracie Watley also allowed only two hits in defeat, surrendering two runs — one earned — in the third innings before finishing the night with seven strikeouts.
