Columbia wrestlers Ian McGuigan and Alex McGuigan came up short of the medal stand at the Class 2A state meet on Saturday.
The twin brothers both needed to win their first match to guarantee a top-six finish. Instead, Ian lost to Heritage's Ba Francois by a 7-3 decision and Alex was pinned by Estero's Orande Smith 51 seconds into their match.
Ian and Alex both finished 2-2 at the state meet.
SOFTBALL
Columbia finished 3-1 at Santa Fe's Raider Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Class 5A No. 8 Lady Tigers (7-2) split their two games Friday, beating Lake Gibson 6-4 before losing to Palmetto 13-6. But Columbia bounced back on Saturday with an 11-6 win over Sebastian River and a 12-1 victory over Space Coast.
Next up for the Lady Tigers is a road game at West Nassau on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
