PREP ROUNDUP: Lafayette, Branford split matchups in hoops

Kiley Beach recorded a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Lafayette’s girls basketball team to a 47-36 win over Branford on the road Monday night in District 5-1A action.

Havyn Richardson also finished in double figures for the Hornets (12-3) with 13 points, while Sophia Kendrick grabbed 16 rebounds and Kelby Lyons grabbed 13 rebounds. Tristan Campbell added nine points to help take down the Buccaneers (3-11).

The Branford boys capped off the night with a 48-47 win over Lafayette. The Buccaneers improved to 11-6 while the Hornets fell to 10-5.
