GIRLS BASKETBALL

— Columbia 69, Newberry 41: Zuri Hollie scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds to help the Tigers (12-10) bounce back from Saturday’s loss to Lincoln with a blowout win over the Panthers (13-7) at home Tuesday night. Jolena Gardner (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Mariah Cox (16 points, 10 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles for CHS, which also got seven points and 10 boards from Jahlaya Wilson and six points and 13 rebounds from Dariyan Williams. The Tigers played with starting guards Eriel Baker and Ayesha Broxey, who served the first of a two-game suspension stemming from Thursday’s loss to Trinity Catholic.

— Chiefland 46, Lafayette 45: The Hornets fell to 13-7 with a road loss to the Indians (10-11) on Tuesday night.

BOYS BASKETBALL

— Branford 65, Countryside Christian 28: The Buccaneers improved to 15-6 with a road win over the Minutemen (3-16) on Tuesday night.

— Chiefland 62, Lafayette 29: The Hornets fell to 10-8 with a blowout loss to the Indians (10-9) on the road Tuesday night.
