PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Suwannee girls win Wakulla XC Meet, boys finish second

Ryleigh Hermanson led the Suwannee girls to another team victory on Saturday, finishing runner-up again at the Wakulla XC Meet at 3Y Ranch with a time of 20:42.60.

The Bulldogs finished with 44 points, just edging Wakulla by two for first thanks for to three top-10 finishes that also included a fifth-place finish by Olivia Hermanson (21:47.80) and a ninth-place finish by Arwen Haley (23:16.80). Also scoring for the SHS girls were Lydia Gunter in 18th (26:18.70) and Brooke Gunter in 28th (27:46.20).

The Suwannee boys were runners-up with 89 points while Leon ran away with first with 42 points. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Logan Haley in fifth (17:56.80), Brig Scott in 12th (18:56.70), Drew Hurst in 24th (19:45.80), Brant Johnson in 25th (19:46.90) and Kale Skinner in 41st (21:33.60).

CHS AT BOBCAT CLASSIC

Columbia competed in the annual Buchholz Bobcat Classic on Saturday morning, with the girls placing sixth behind a 22nd-place finish (24:05.20). She was followed by Murphy Todd in 49th (27:12.10), Kensi Shaw in 50th (27:15.50), Paola Ortiz in 55th (27:31.30) and Ellie Womble in 65th (29:45.40).

The CHS boys placed 11th and were led by Brandyn Pope in 43rd (20:46.40). Behind him were teammates LaWarren Newton in 53rd (21:33.60), Jacob McLeod in 58th (22:09.90), Cole Tyler in 60th (22:19.70) and Aiden Pope in 68th (23:14.60).
