Olivia Hermanson placed fifth overall in a time of 21:32.0 to lead the Suwannee girls to a third-place finish at the Alligator Lake Invitational on Saturday, while Logan Haley finished 10th at 17:56.9 to lead the Suwannee boys to a sixth-place finish.
The girls finished with 62 points behind Oak Hall (36) and Gainesville (38), while the boys tallied 201 behind Oak Hall (37), Valdosta (90), Oakleaf (112), The Villages (114) and Cornerstone Academy (155).
Four other runners scored finished in top 25 to cap the scoring for SHS girls, including Arwen Haley in 13th (22:49.60), Ryleigh Hermanson in 16th (23:17.20), Virginia Mayhew in 18th (23:31.0) and Sadie Siemon in 22nd (24:21.4). Behind Haley for the SHS boys were Brig Scott in 26th (19:00.2), Brant Johnson in 53rd (20:17.5), Drew Hurst in 60th (20:51.1) and Kale Skinner in 61st (20:52.1).
The Branford girls placed sixth with 162 points, led by a 28th-place finish from Kelbie Snider at 24:58.8. Behind her were teammates Ella Harris in 35th (25:43.1), Callie Harris in 38th (25:57.5), Kayleigh Wardle in 50th (27:28.1) and Kalyn Osgood in 58th (28:33.9). The BHS boys didn’t have enough runners to score team points, but they were led by Charles Mitzel in 86th (22:32.3).
The Columbia girls and boys both placed seventh with 170 and 244 points, respectively. Scoring for the CHS girls were Reese Todd in 29th (25:10.5), Laelle Thompson in 45th (26:43.8), Kiara Thompson in 47th (27:03.8), Kensi Shaw in 48th (27:16.5) and Paola Ortiz in 55th (28:01.8). Nathan Matsubara led the CHS boys with a 24th-place finish at 18:57.2 ahead of teammates Joshua Thompson in 38th (19:38.3), Brandyn Pope in 49th (20:07.6), John Ringenberg in 72nd (21:37.1) and LaWarren Newton in 75th (21:42.2).
