PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Fort White girls place 11th at District 2-2A meet

The Fort White girls placed 11th out of 13 teams at the District 2-2A meet at Bishop Kenny on Monday.

Leading the Indians was Daelyn Cooper, who finished 70th in a time of 26:14.72. Also scoring for Fort White were Raffaellie Carreras in 74th (26:46.09), Zeta Toundas in 75th (26:46.44), Keagan Ayers in 97th (28:37.63) and Madison Bishop in 99th (29:19.41) as the group tallied 316 points.

Bishop Kenny won the district title with a 27 total. Seven other teams qualified for regionals, including Bolles (34 points), Episcopal School of Jacksonville (82), Fernandina Beach (103), Wolfson (143), Eastside (233), Keystone Heights (250) and Raines (250).

The last individual regional qualifier — top four finishes who weren’t members of the eight qualifying teams — was Paxon’s Gurbani Singh, who placed 59th in 24:39.71.
