Suwannee receiver MJ Rossin was voted by the readers the LCR Athlete of the Week for Sept. 9-14.
Rossin received 212 of the 698 votes (30%) cast through noon Wednesday in our online poll following a stellar performance where he tallied 343 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns while intercepting a pass defensively in a 29-26 loss to Godby. He finished ahead of Branford golfer Claire Bond (26%), Lafayette volleyball player Rylee Skillman (18%), Lafayette golfer Cooper Kerby (17%), Suwannee cross country runner Ryleigh Hermanson (5%) and Fort White linebacker Lecosta Byrd (3%).
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
