Suwannee quarterback Thomas Sikes was voted by the readers as the LCR Athlete of the Week for Nov. 4-9.
Sikes received 56 of the 111 votes cast through 4 p.m. Wednesday in our online poll following a performance where he finished with the second-best passing game in program history, completing 19 of 34 passes for 377 yards to go with three touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 28-21 loss to Wakulla. He finished ahead of Suwannee cross country runner Olivia Hermanson (41 votes), Suwannee golfer Ryan Donaldson (9), and Columbia soccer player Niki Sossie (5).
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
