Suwannee cross country runner Ryleigh Hermanson was voted by the readers the LCR Athlete of the Week for Sept. 2-7.
Hermanson, who placed second at the Clay County Invitational with a time of 20:50.5 to help the Bulldogs finish first as a team, received 130 votes (52%) of the 248 votes cast through noon Wednesday in our online poll. She finished ahead of Lafayette receiver Jordan Murphy (37%), Columbia quarterback Zamarion Jones (5%), Fort White kicker Max Eyjolfsson (3%) and Columbia setter Mylie Fernandez (3%).
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be derived from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees.
