Lafayette volleyball player Brooke Lamb was voted by the readers the LCR Athlete of the Week for Sept. 16-21.
Lamb received 93 of the 337 votes (28%) cast through 4 p.m. Wednesday in our online poll following an impressive week where she combined for 32 kills, 11 aces and 33 digs in three wins over Taylor County, Williston and Union County. She finished ahead of Lafayette receiver Jordan Murphy (23%), Branford volleyball player Lalyn Sikes (19%), Columbia volleyball player Mylie Fernandez (15%), Columbia swimmer Brie Fair (14%), Suwannee golfer Ryan Donaldson (less than 1%) and Suwannee swimmer Cade Cannon (less than 1%).
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
