Columbia wrestler Bella Guerrier-Lajoir was voted by the readers as the LCR Athlete of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 1.
Guerrier-Lajoir received 649 of the 1,527 votes in our online poll following a week where she took home the title the 125 class at the Lady Trojan Invitational by defeating three wrestlers ranked in the top 15 in the state. She finished ahead of Branford weightlifter Anabella Dicks (623), Lafayette soccer player Carra clark (113), Branford soccer player Carlos Contreras (61), Lafayette basketball player Kylie Beach (56), Fort White basketball player Jayden Jackson (14) and Suwannee weightlifter Jordyn Rodriguez (11).
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
