Columbia soccer player Niki Sossie was voted by the readers as the LCR Athlete of the Week for Nov. 18-23.
Sossie received 87 of the 166 votes cast through 2 p.m. Wednesday in our online poll following a week where she scored two goals in a 4-1 win over Eastside and scored a goal with an assist in a 2-0 win over Wakulla. She finished ahead of Columbia basketball Zavian Douglas (57), Columbia soccer player Nathan Matsubara (14), Columbia basketball player Jolena Gardner (3), Fort White basketball player Zuri Hollie (2), Suwannee soccer player Rember Alonso (2) and Branford soccer player Carlos Contreras (1).
There will be no poll for this week due to Thanksgiving break. The next poll will be online following next week’s events. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters.
