Columbia pitcher Harleigh Price was voted by the readers as the LCR Athlete of the Week for Feb. 24-March 1.
Price received 557 of the 1,376 votes in our 10-nominee poll following a week where she had a 0.00 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched while also hitting .333 with two RBIs in a 2-1 week for the Tigers. She just edged out Branford first baseman Mallory Blue, who received 550 votes.
The next poll will be online this weekend. Nominees will be chosen from scores and stats uploaded to MaxPreps, sent in by coaches and from games attended by the LCR's reporters. Coaches can also send in nominees to jkroeger@lakecityreporter.com.
