Florida Gateway College held off a second-half rally by Pasco-Hernando State College for an 83-82 win at the Howard Center on Saturday in Suncoast Conference action.
Kenny Brown scored a game-high 23 points with three 3-pointers and Diamond Smith had 20 in the Timberwolves’ home finale as they pulled out a victory after leading 44-35 at halftime. Brandon Farmer also came for the bench to add 15 points and nine rebounds for FGC (15-11, 2-1).
Daniel Derice led Pasco-Hernado (8-13, 1-2) with 20 points. Warren Mclymont had 19 and Marion Jones III finished with 18.
FGC travels to Trinity Baptist College on Thursday.
