Columbia bounced back to topple Lakes Wales 65-46 on Saturday in the teams’ finale at the Battle on the Island at Fleming Island High School.
Zavian Douglas led the way for the Tigers (5-4) with 16 points, while Noah Wilson and Jalen Gaskins each had 12 points to turn a close game at halftime into a route. Columbia led 21-19 at the half before scoring 21 points in the third quarter and 23 in the fourth.
Marlin Haywood also chipped in with eight points to help take down the Highlanders (3-7), who faced CHS after a matchup switch.
Columbia returns to action next Wednesday against Nease on the first day of the Hitchcock’s Challenge at Legacy Park in Alachua. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m.
