West Palm Beach murder suspect captured in Live Oak

LIVE OAK — A Live Oak man was captured Tuesday for a murder in West Palm Beach.

Investigators with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office helped the United States Marshals Office with apprehending 37-year-old Joetavius Jackson on Tuesday after the Marshals tracked him to Live Oak. He was captured walking on West Duval Street near Shelby Avenue and was taken into custody without incident, according to an SCSO release.

Jackson is wanted in Palm Beach County for shooting and killing someone on Oct. 17 during an altercation over a cell phone.

Jackson was released from state prison in May following a 10-year sentence for the sale of cocaine in Suwannee County. Jackson has also served time in state prison for armed burglary and robbery and attempted robbery without a firearm in Palm Beach County.
