South Florida woman killed in I-75 crash

FHP: Woman hit by passing semi truck after inital wreck; two others suffer minor injuries.

JASPER — A Pembroke Pines woman was killed Saturday night when she was hit by a semi truck after exiting her crashed vehicle on Interstate 75.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, three women got out of their sedan after it hydroplaned in the rain on I-75 around 11:24 p.m. just south of the State Road 6 exit. The release states the car was traveling south on I-75 when it lost control in the rain.

After the car was then hit by an SUV, it stopped in the middle of the inside and middle lanes on I-75, so the three people inside the car exited.

The FHP release states the passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Pembroke Pines, was then hit by a semi that was headed south on the interstate. The woman was killed.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Miami woman, suffered minor injuries. As did another passenger, a 20-year-old Miami woman.

Neither the driver of the SUV nor the semi were injured.
