A Live Oak man is wanted by authorities after a string of armed robbery attempts over the weekend.

A Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office release states that Monte Deaundre Ellis, a 21-year-old considered to be armed and dangerous, brandished a handgun in an incident inside the Live Oak city limits. The release states that Ellis allegedly lured a victim to a location in the city and then robbed them at gunpoint.

Ellis wasn’t done though. On Sunday evening, the SCSO states Ellis held another victim at gunpoint and took the person’s vehicle from an auto parts store in Live Oak.

According to the release, a juvenile helping Ellis was unable to get into the vehicle during the robbery and was locked out and had to flee on foot. The juvenile was apprehended a few blocks away by SCSO deputies and Live Oak Police Department officers.

Ellis, though, escaped in the vehicle before abandoning it off of Goldkist Blvd.

He then tried to rob another person, this time at a convenience store on U.S. Highway 90 just west of the city limits, again at gunpoint. Authorities say the victim was able to flee back to the convenience store safely and Ellis fled on foot.

The release states authorities were able to obtain video surveillance from the crime scenes, which led to an arrest warrant for Ellis for attempted armed car jacking for the convenience store carjacking. SCSO states that additional charges are pending from LOPD.

Anyone that knows where Ellis is should contact the SCSO Dispatch Center at 386-362-2222. People may also call the Suwannee County Crime Stoppers at 386-208-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
