Hamilton Disaster Recovery Center closing Sunday

JASPER — The Disaster Recovery Center in Hamilton County will be closing this weekend.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Friday that the site in Hamilton County where local residents can receive assistance for damages from Hurricane Debby will be closing permanently at noon Sunday.

The Hamilton County center is located at the Courthouse Annex/Chamber of Commerce at 1153 NW U.S. Highway 41 in Jasper.

The site will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon.

All of the Disaster Recovery Centers are closed Monday for Labor Day.

Other locations in the area are at the old Lake City Reporter building at 180 E. Duval Street in Lake City, the Hale Park Community Center, 215 Duval Street NE in Live Oak, and the Mayo Community Center, 150 NW Community Circle in Mayo. All three will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday and is otherwise open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Among the services that will be provided at the local centers are general information and hazard mitigation from FEMA representatives, both business loans and home loans from the Small Business Administration and then other assistance from state and local entities.
