HIGH SPRINGS — A High Springs man was killed Sunday night when his bicycle was hit by a car while trying to cross U.S. Highway 441.
A Florida Highway Patrol release said the cyclist, a 67-year-old, was crossing the highway near NW 203rd Avenue on the northwest side of High Springs, when the southbound car hit the bike.
According to FHP, the High Springs man was transported to an area hospital but died there.
Nobody in the car, which was driven by a 33-year-old Lake City woman, was injured. There were also two passengers, 11- and 8-year-old boys.
