A Lake City woman was arrested Saturday morning after running down a victim in her car.

According to a Lake City Police Department release, officers responded to the corner of South Marion Avenue and SW Crescent Street at 8:57 a.m. where they found the victim with severe injuries to their head and body.

The release states officers, firefighters and EMTs administered first aid to the victim.

A witness told officers the victim had been arguing with the driver of a Buick car. When the victim attempted to walk away from the car, the driver hit the gas, hitting the victim and throwing them into the windshield.

The release said the driver didn’t stop to aid the victim, instead fleeing the area.

Charnavia L. Criswell was identified as the driver based on evidence at the scene and information from witnesses. Criswell, 31, was located and arrested by the LCPD and subsequently transported to the
Columbia County Detention Center without further incident. She was charged with attempted homicide.
