WHITE SPRINGS — A White Springs man was killed Sunday night when his vehicle flipped after hitting a culvert in northern Columbia County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, the 53-year-old man’s southbound SUV ran off the side of U.S. Highway 41 near NW Kelly Lane just before 10 p.m. Sunday for unknown reasons. The FHP release said the SUV went airborne over a culvert after it left the roadway.
Once the vehicle landed, it flipped over and the White Springs man was thrown from the SUV, according to the release.
FHP, which is still investigating the crash, said the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
