Both lanes of I-75 were shut down while authorities from a number of agencies searched for Young.

"It was a real good team effort," Hunter said around 4:20 p.m. after they captured Young. "If he hadn't resisted, we wouldn't have had to use all these resources. But if you shoot at one of my guys, we're going to come after you and come after you hard."

Officers from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and Alachua County Sheriff's Office searched for Young with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol around the 406 mile marker of I-75 in Alachua County. The Florida Department of Corrections K-9 unit also assisted with the search along with Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the U.S. Marshal's Office.
