Two people were shot in separate incidents Friday night in Lake City.
According to information released by the Lake City Police Department on Monday morning, one person was shot in their vehicle at 9 p.m. while driving on U.S. Highway 90. Another victim was shot in a house 90 minutes later in northeast Lake City.
The first victim, who had two gunshot wounds, told officers that while driving west on W. U.S. 90, a grey SUV pulled alongside them and began shooting. The incident occurred near ABC Fine Wine & Spirits at the NW Ridgewood Avenue intersection.
The victim was the only person in the vehicle and was transported by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
Around 10:30 p.m., a person was shot in a home on NE Trinity Place.
The LCPD release states the home was struck by numerous rounds of gunfire. One person inside was hit in the back by a bullet fragment. They were treated on scene by EMS for their injury, which was not life-threatening.
Investigators with the LCPD, with assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office crime scene technicians, processed both scenes.
